Location plays an important role in the Lifestyle-Living-Project at Grinzinger Allee No. 15 + 17: The excellent view of downtown Vienna as well as the Viennese vineyards was incorporated into the design of the apartments. The individual flats are sized between 60 and 140m². The building dates from the 1920’s and had originally been built in the neoclassical style with many nooks and corners. The challenge for SYNCinc consisted of establishing a simple, functional floor plan within the context of a difficult existing footprint.

The existing gabled roof had to be preserved. A ceiling height of three meters was achieved through an open attic conversion all the way up to the roof’s apex. Large skylights were inserted into parts of the gabled roof. In addition to these adaptations, SYNCinc, also carried out the basic renewal of the building’s infrastructure, the construction of a garage, and the installation of an elevator.
