Details

The original, existing conditions of the roof spaces in the 2 buildings were quite complex. Nevertheless it was possible to resolve the complex geometries and realize a elegantly simple and functional floor plan for the apartments. One would hardly expect to find such fine quality housing situated on the heavily travelled road of Einwanggasse.

The upper floors of the maisonettes enjoy a beautiful view of the Schönbrunn Palace, while a green garden oasis and an original Wilhelminian-style garden villa are situated in the courtyard. The apartments are orientated in an east-west direction. They are suffused with light and feature terraces looking out over the courtyard The spacious aesthetic of the villa’s loft conversion was achieved by an open conversion all the way up to the roof’s apex. High-quality elements like stainless steel railings and parquet floors were used consistently throughout the entire project.

To an outside observer the mansard roof form of the main building fits in harmoniously with the roof landscape. A skillfully designed band of windows with a glazed corner solution on the street side allows for the optimization of natural lighting of the apartments.
